Sticker File Formats: PNG, JPEG and WebP

Separate the editable master from the upload copy

One file preserves future editing; the other matches the current production intake.

Vector masters such as SVG, AI, or EPS can retain shapes and text for later revision, while layered raster files can preserve painting and texture. Do not discard those originals after exporting. The browser upload is a delivery format, not the complete archive. Name versions clearly, keep linked fonts or convert text appropriately in the master, and export a flattened preview that another person can inspect without specialized software.

Use PNG for transparency and clean contours

PNG is the most direct current choice when the sticker needs its own outer shape.

Export the intended artwork bounds with a transparent background and inspect the edge over both light and dark colors. Remove hidden pixels, accidental matte halos, and distant stray marks that could enlarge the generated contour. Transparency does not replace resolution: the studio still checks the pixel dimensions, and small source art can remain soft even when saved as PNG.

Use JPEG or WebP for deliberate full-background artwork

These formats suit photographic or rectangular compositions when transparency is not required.

Choose high quality and avoid repeatedly resaving a compressed file. Confirm that the crop, orientation, color, and background are intentional before upload. JPEG cannot carry transparency; WebP can, but support in the current workflow does not guarantee that every editor exported the alpha channel correctly. Open the final upload copy in a second viewer and compare it with the master at the planned physical size.

Export unsupported formats before using the public studio

PDF, SVG, TIFF, AI, and EPS need a checked PNG, JPEG, or WebP derivative today.

Do not rename a file extension or rely on the browser to interpret print-specific pages, spot colors, artboards, or embedded fonts. Open the source in an appropriate application, select the correct page or artboard, and export the intended design. For logos and exact text, verify spacing and spelling after export. Keep the source available in case support needs a different derivative later, but do not claim that the current form uploads it directly.

Resolution must be judged at physical size

A large pixel count is useful only when it represents the actual artwork clearly.

Check the smallest lettering, line, face, and edge at the selected millimeter size. Upscaling a thumbnail creates more pixels without restoring missing detail. Conversely, an unnecessarily huge file can slow handling without improving print. The 600 by 600 minimum is an intake floor, not a universal quality guarantee. Detailed or large stickers need proportionally stronger source art and a final review of the prepared product image.
